Jacinta was a young girl living in a small village in Tanzania when she got married at age fifteen. This was common in her community, but it would change her life forever. One year after her wedding, she became pregnant and gave birth to her first son.
After the baby was born, life became very difficult for Jacinta. Her husband and his family began treating her badly. Her sister-in-law was especially cruel to her, always finding fault with everything she did.
Over the next three years, Jacinta had two more children. But tragedy struck when one of her babies died mysteriously when it was only three months old. The family blamed Jacinta for the death, saying it was somehow her fault.
After losing her baby, things got even worse. Her sister-in-law convinced her husband to take a second wife. Now Jacinta had to share her husband and face even more cruel treatment from his family. She felt like an outsider in her own home.
Finally, Jacinta decided she had suffered enough. She was done with the marriage and the constant mistreatment. She took her three surviving children to her mother’s house in their home village. With help from a kind relative, she found a job in the city.
Jacinta moved to the city to work, while her mother helped raise her children back in the village. It was hard to be separated from them, but she needed to earn money to support them. She called home often to check on her family.
One day, Jacinta felt very worried for no clear reason. She decided to call home to make sure everyone was okay. She spoke to her eldest son, who was excited because he was supposed to start college the next day. She sent him money to help with his school expenses and told him how proud she was.
The very next day, while Jacinta was at work in the city, her phone rang. Something deep inside her told her this wasn’t going to be good news. The phone rang several more times before she finally answered it.
The news was the worst possible. Her son was dead. No one could explain what had happened to the healthy young man who had been so excited about starting college.
Jacinta immediately got on a bus and traveled as fast as she could to her mother’s village. When she arrived, her son’s body was already at the local hospital. The doctors could not find a clear cause of death.
The day before her son’s burial, Jacinta got into an argument with her former sister-in-law about how the funeral should be conducted. Her sister-in-law wanted to do things a certain way, but Jacinta disagreed.
Later that same day, Jacinta noticed something strange. She saw her sister-in-law secretly place a folded piece of cloth inside the coffin with her son. This made Jacinta very suspicious.
That night, when everyone was sleeping, Jacinta quietly went to the coffin to see what had been placed inside. She found a white cloth with grass tied to it in a specific pattern. She also discovered a photograph of herself hidden under her son’s body.
Jacinta was shocked and frightened by what she found. She believed these items were part of some kind of curse or evil magic. She quickly took them back to her room and burned them early the next morning before anyone could see.
After the burial, strange things began happening to Jacinta. Almost every night, she would see visions of a woman dressed in black sitting on her doorstep. The woman would just sit there, staring at Jacinta’s house.
One night, Jacinta fell asleep on her couch. She was awakened in the middle of the night by terrible screaming. The voice sounded exactly like her son who had just been buried. She was terrified but tried to tell herself it was just a nightmare.
But every night after that, she heard the screams again. They seemed to get louder and louder each time. Finally, she decided she had to find out what was really happening.
One night, she took a flashlight and went outside to check on her son’s grave. When she pointed the light toward the burial site, she saw three people wearing black clothes standing over the grave. As soon as they saw her light, they ran away into the darkness.
Jacinta screamed for help, and her neighbors came running. When they looked at the grave, they found that the soil where her son’s head would be had been dug up and removed.
Jacinta told her neighbors about everything she had been seeing and hearing, but most of them didn’t believe her. They thought she was just having a hard time accepting her son’s death and was imagining things.
But Jacinta was convinced that her former sister-in-law was behind everything, including her son’s death. She believed the woman was using dark magic to torment her family.
The next day, Jacinta made sure the grave was covered with cement so that no one could disturb it again. After the grave was sealed with concrete, she never heard the screaming voices again.
To this day, Jacinta believes that her son was killed by jealousy and evil magic. She thinks the cement over his grave finally gave him the peace he needed. Though she could never prove what really happened, she found some comfort in knowing that her son’s spirit was finally at rest.
